We are a small and friendly surgery with three GP Partners, Dr Syed Abdi (MBBS MRCGP), Dr Shahzad Ahmad (MRCGP), Dr Nida Abdi (MBBS), as well as regular sessional GPs, a Physicians Associate, GP Registrars and Foundation Doctors working at the practice. In addition to the doctors, we have an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, who can help with minor ailments and prescribe and refer as appropriate.
Nursing team
We also have a nursing team which is made up of 2 practice nurses, Alison Potter and Dawn White and a health care assistant, Syeda Habibah Fatima Abidi. They are here to deal with a whole range of appointments including annual reviews of long-term health conditions, diagnostic procedures, and contraceptive care.
General Medical Services (GMS) contract
The practice team deliver a full range of clinical services under our General Medical Services (GMS) contract with NHS England.
First Contact Physiotherapist
A First Contact Physiotherapist (FCP) is a highly trained healthcare professional who serves as the first point of contact for patients with musculoskeletal (MSK) issues within a Stoneycroft MC. Working one and a half sessions per week, the FCP conducts patient assessments, diagnoses conditions, provides expert advice, and initiates treatment plans without requiring a GP referral. This role ensures timely access to specialist MSK care, reducing pressure on GPs and enhancing patient outcomes
